Am I cute or what?
Winston shows off the "heart" on his back |
Winston is just about the most perfect kitten we've seen in some time.
He has it all... looks... brains... personality. In the looks department,
he has stunning markings, with gorgeous classic tabby on his back
surrounding a brilliant white heart in the middle, brilliant white
underbelly, unique leg markings, and his perfect little face beautifully
framed. He's very smart and learns quickly, but where he REALLY shines
is in personality... not only is he playful, he's a lover and delights
in getting attention. He'd almost rather have attention than eat... and
he loves to eat. (Both wet and dry.) He makes a beeline for his foster
mom each time he sees her, and starts up a lovely throaty P-U-R-R-R-R-H.
He loves to nap on her lap, and will turn his tummy up for rubs. He
meets people easily...in one case it was a 2-yo girl who was very
excited and and squealing. Winston wasn't scared of her, so he will be
fine with nice kids. It just doesn't get much better than that.
Winston came to us from a high-kill shelter where he and his brother were taken. We don't know their background before getting there, but they had the misfortune to come a day after 59 cats were confiscated from a hoarder. With that kind of huge intake every animal was in danger since there wasn't room for all of them. The shelter appealed for help with the 59 cats, and rescues started volunteering. Winston wasn't in the group of 59, but when the CARA volunteer went to take some CARA had picked from the group they were gone. The volunteer saw Winston and took him; by getting him out that at least gave another shelter cat one more chance. Sadly, Winston's brother wasn't saved... he was gone before the CARA volunteer arrived. |

Winston had a bit of a rough start, coming down with upper
respiratory infection as is so common with animals from shelters.
However, it didn't take long for him to get past that, and now he's
living the good life with 3 female adults (Jessie, Raven and Whisper).
They were pretty sedate when he arrived, but no more... now he's
got them all playing with the laser pen toy (about which he is
almost maniacal) and the swishy toy. He's cooperative about getting
his nails clipped and is great with his litterbox. There's just
nothing lacking in this boy, and everyone that meets him is so
impressed. He was so lucky to get to safety, and we're so lucky to
have such a nice boy that's going to make some adopter VERY happy.
If you'd like to meet Winston, please check our upcoming show schedule, and email us beforehand at cara_adopt@yahoo.com to make sure he will be at the store to meet you!
