Whisper and her brother were kitten fosters a little over seven years
ago. Somewhere along the way Whisper's family also adopted a dog.
Maybe it was the dog (could have been aggressive to her), maybe the
family's downsizing (children leaving home); whatever the reason by
2005 the family noticed Whisper seemed unhappy. They hoped it would
turn around but after much soul searching returned her to the
original foster so she could find a home where she'd be happier.
Whisper had to immediately adapt to a much bigger family but only of cats (14 of them!). Surprisingly she did not appear bothered by this fact and adjusted well. When called upon to spend a week with a single person without any animals she showed signs of loneliness. Since the single person was rarely home, we suspect it would be quite different with someone who spent more time home or who had another animal companion. She would also enjoy an active family and would love older children (over the age of 6) to play with her. It's possible she could live with a dog that was very gentle and respectful. |

Whisper just recently moved to another foster who is a busy single
person and she's doing well. She has two suitemates, Jessica and
Raven, who are gentle and goodnatured. She enjoys playing with the
laser pen toy and batting mice. She uses the turboscratcher and is
good with the litterbox. She's not a big talker but does talk a bit...
each time her foster spends time with her she greets her with a
lovely, throaty cooing sound. When her foster talks to her
she responds to it with even more lovely cooing.
All in all, Whisper is what you'd call a "get-along" girl. She's
pleasant and congenial and asks for attention but isn't manic
about it. She's very friendly, and LOVES to be touched and have
her tummy rubbed. Her foster mom enjoys her pleasant, easygoing
nature a lot.
