Tuxie

Tuxie is a 6 month old adorable male tuxedo kitten who is shy with strangers, but will follow around and make cute little meows to a human who he's come to trust. And the best way to get him to trust you is to dangle a string before him, which he loves with a passion. Once he trusts you, you can pick him up and he will be putty in your hands with his silky coat and huge purr. He is neutered, had all his shots, and is negative for FHIV and FLV. He is extremely playful and quite a clown. With his long black tail, and perfectly regular tuxedo pattern, he is a beautiful little fellow.

Tuxie is the kitten of Moo, a 1-2 year old stray to whom he is very devoted. He curls his tail around her shoulders whenever he passes her and loves to snuggle with and groom her. He likes to sneak up and pounce on her and, when she is in the mood, they have great games of tag and wrestle together. The only things he may love more than his mother, however, is string, a balled up piece of paper, and fur covered cat toys.

Tuxie lives in the woods by my apartment in Greenbelt. Though he is usually with his mother, he sometimes wanders alone. He and his mother were just too adorable not to start feeding when I met them in July, and they both bound across the yard to me when I come home. I got them spayed and inoculated the beginning of October and kept them in my efficiency with my two cats for a few days, who he got along well with. He spent much of his time in the rug-covered cat condo, which he is convinced was made just for him, playing like a nut ball with all the cat toys he could get his paws on inside it. He showed no signs of missing the outdoors and took to the litter box like a charm. He is very self-occupying and hilarious to watch play, and with enough cat toys, he could deal with the times his mother didn't want to snuggle with him. He is definitely very social with other cats, and could probably adjust well to a household with other friendly cats without his mother if he could bond with them, but he and his mom do make an awfully cute team.
