Starlight and Moonlight are two of the sweetest, most beautiful cats you could ever hope to meet. And yet their previous family abused the cats and then deserted them. There were 2 children in the family, ages 8 and 10 years old, who were allowed to run wild, skip school for weeks at a time, and pretty much do whatever they wanted. They put one cat in the microwave and the other in the freezer. Thankfully both were rescued before coming to any harm. Then, when the family was about to be evicted from their apartment, they planned to just move away and leave Starlight and Moonlight behind. Again, the cats landed on their feet, thanks to a friend of a friend, who heard about the intended abandonment and came and got the cats and took them to safety. Starlight and Moonlight are young girls, about a year old, with silky medium-long hair and fluffy tails. Moonlight is a very colorful tortoiseshell with a beautiful lustrous coat. Starlight is a combination calico and tabby, with lovely golden coloring and distinctive markings. Until they can find a new home, they are boarding at a vet hospital, where they have won over the entire staff with their gentle manners and charming personalities. They have been spayed, vaccinated, and tested for Feline Leukemia Virus and FIV (negative for both) all of the basic care that the previous owners neglected. Starlight and Moonlight are sisters who have never been separated and who are strongly bonded, so they are hoping to find a family who will adopt both of them together. They sleep together and constantly cuddle and hug each other, and they seem to become anxious if one is taken out of the cage without the other. If you can find room for these two sweet little girls in your home, please call Beltsville Veterinary Hospital at 301-937-3020 and ask for Shari or Michelle. |
