Rudy

Hello, I'm a five year old female Bichon Frise named Rudy. CARA rescued me from a local shelter where I was on death row. I was used as a backyard breeder who had many litters of puppies (I miss my pups) and the people otherwise left me alone and filthy in the basement or outside 24/7. I never got groomed or my teeth taken care of and smelled horribly when I was dropped off at the Shelter. Here's a "before" picture -- well, not quite before. My foster Mom cut the dreadlocks away from eyes so I could see, but I was pretty filthy. I went to the doctor's and they spayed me, gave me all my shots and then had to extract 32 teeth from my mouth. Ouch! My teeth were infected up into my sinuses and I had been in pain for a long, long time.

Here's me now! I don't quite look like a Bichon yet cause there's no hair really to groom, but I feel 100% better! I eat dry food that's been softened with warm water and have gained a few pounds (I was skin and bones). I'm healthy and happy.

I'm looking for a special Mom or Dad. Someone who is retired or semi-retired (I'm housebroken and can be crated or not during the day) and who doesn't have other companion animals would be great. Well, maybe a small cat who won't eat me. I like my foster Mom's cats but her two big dogs step on me and that hurts! I don't like other dogs much (maybe cause it meant I was going to have pups again and then be left alone again, my pups taken away) or other people but I'm working on it with a behaviorist. I'm just scared of going back to the life I had. I'd rather be on death row than go back there. Please say you've got room in your heart for me! Love, Rudy
