Pursia

Two year old Pursia (pronounced purr-zhuh) came to us from an eviction situation, with her brother cat Nino. After a quick visit to a vet for vaccine updates and a clean bill of health, these kitties entered a CARA foster home. Both kitties were very agitated by the new smells, sights, and sounds of the other cats in the home. Pursia first warmed up to her foster dad, allowing short petting sessions and head butts. She was still unsure of her foster mom... then when she escaped the quarantine room, an amazing thing happened - she fell in love with the five kittens that were in her foster home!

Though Pursia was spayed very young and had never been pregnant, she found an internal calling to "mother" these kittens. Her maternal instinct was so strong that her foster parents often caught her carrying the smallest of the kittens around the house so that she could keep tabs on them. The kittens still come to her to comfort nurse (no milk) at 11 and 13 weeks old!

Everyone piles on Pursia!

We think that she is a little off-standish with some of the adult kitties in the house because of her natural instinct to "protect" the kittens, but she has done well with a second cat in the past (even one that attacked her on a regular basis!), so we are confident that a non-aggressive kitty would be fine for Pursia to live with.

She has been interested in the dogs that travel through our CARA adoption events, but we do not know how she would react in a living situation with a dog, large or small. If a family was looking to adopt Pursia and a friend or two, one of the Magic Kittens or Jinx and Mischief would be ideal as they all have a bond that is a strong as any biological bond would be.

If you'd like to meet Pursia, please check our upcoming show schedule, and email us beforehand at cara_adopt@yahoo.com to make sure she will be at the store to meet you!
