Piglet was one of a colony of feral cats that were trapped and brought to a local vet hospital to be spayed or neutered. She was assumed to be a feral kitten, presumably the sister of a slightly bigger male kitten who was very scared and wild indeed. But to everybody's amazement, Piglet wasn't the least bit feral. In fact she is outgoing and sociable and playful and seems to crave attention and petting. It's impossible to know what her story was. Was she actually a tame kitten who was dumped at this colony? Did she happen to get handled when she was young enough to be easily socialized? Did she have a different father who passed on to her a more people-friendly disposition? We'll never know. What we do know is that this kitten has a great personality, and she would make a wonderful house pet. So instead of being returned with the other cats, Piglet is boarding at the hospital until she can find a home. Piglet was born somewhere around January 1. She has been tested for Feline Leukemia Virus and FIV (negative for both, thankfully) and has been vaccinated. She is an extremely cute black and white tuxedo kitten, with a comical splotchy milk moustache and pretty white bib and mittens. She is tired of living in a cage and is very eager to find some kind person to adopt her and take her home where she can play to her heart's content. If you are interested in meeting Piglet to see for yourself how adorable she is, please call Beltsville Veterinary Hospital at 301-937-3020 and ask for Shari or Michelle. |
