Mystic

Mystic and his littermates, Magic and Mystery, were found living on the property of a commercial roofing company behind a pallet of lumber. Though their feral mother was still nursing them, these little ones toddled out to eat the "big kitty" food at 5 weeks old. The caretaker was able to pick up the small kittens and get them to safety with a CARA volunteer. We found out later that the lumber pallet was not a safe place for small kittens as tragedy had already struck down two of their littermates.

We think baby Mystic will be a Short to Medium Haired grey/white tabby cat when he grows up. Before he can be adopted into his forever home, he will need major eye surgery on both eyes. Our vets believe that he may have contracted a parasite which has manifested in his eyes, causing the cloudiness you would readily associate with aging animals - cataracts.

Mystic has lost most of the sight in his right eye by the age of 3 months, and will most likely lose most sight in his left eye by 6 months. His eyes have a 95% chance of recovery if the surgeries can be performed before he turns 9 months old.

UPDATE! Mystic has had his eye surgeries which have been completely successful! He is doing great and is now up for adoption!
