His name is Miko (short for Sumiko which is Japanese for charcoal). He
is solid blue-grey with medium length hair, a bushy tail, a round face, and
big yellow/green eyes. He is approximately 6 years old and very healthy.
Miko has been neutered and is up to date on his shots.
He is a slim and affectionate cat who likes to go outside but loves to snuggle on a lap and sleep in bed with me. He loves catnip, toys and enjoys being brushed. Basically, he can be found in whatever room I am in when I am home but will slip outside to roam when I am not home. He adopted me as an older kitty and will not take well to being confined inside but is very street smart. Miko makes friends easily and visits all of the neighbors (calmly walking inside and settling down for a nap as if the home is his own) and has been known to follow me several blocks to the store or to friends' homes. He actually found me one night when I was at a party several blocks away. He is very quiet and only meows when he needs to communicate something urgently (such as "let me in, it's cold!"). He is litter box trained but usually just goes outside. He is very smart and even learned to distinguish between different car sounds and, in the summer, he greets me at the car door as soon as I come home. He has been unsettled by the addition of cats to our home and might take a while to settle in but is a wonderful single pet and captures the heart of everyone who meets him. It was quite unexpected that he would have such a hard time as he is an extremely laid back cat usually and barely lifts a whisker when the vacuum cleaner is run or a dog comes to visit. He is a great mouser and terrorizes the garden mice but he was a favorite of all the neighbors before I moved. I am broken hearted about losing him but he really needs to be king of his own home.
