Louie is a 5 years
old American Bulldog/Staffordshire mix who was recently rescued from death
row on the Eastern Shore (his owner moved without him), with the help
of one of the best dog behaviorists in the country. She was so
impressed by him and you will be too!
She writes, "I was asked a few weeks back to evaluate an adorable, 3 year old dog in our shelter. He is in wonderful condition and is a sweetheart! Bottom line is that this dog is highly trainable, sweet, very soft mouth and highly focused with only the minimum of basic positive clicker training. He is gorgeous and a local charity has adopted him as their one "dog in need" for 2010. He was recently neutered thanks to charitable funds and has started training." This APDT behaviorist is one with whom CARA regularly consults on dog behavior and her opinion is one you could take to the bank! Louie is neutered, up-to-date on shots, and healthy. He is not dog aggressive and is not aggressive with cats, although he could step on them so a well monitored situation is ideal. We'd love to see him in a home that has some activity, perhaps with a runner who would like a buddy or a companion for long walks. He'd even do great in agility competitions, which are so much fun and a great hobby! Because of Louie's breed and other peoples' ignorance, Louie will not be adopted into PG County nor will he be adopted into a rental unit. Adopters must own their own home/condo/townhome somewhere other than PG County. If you'd like to meet Louie, please contact us at CARA. |
