Galena & Opal

Our first night home at 10 weeks old...

...and look at us NOW!

Galena soooo happy!

See my crazy tail??

Opal soooo cute!

Galena and her sister, Opal, came to CARA under the ruse of being "fully vetted." All that apparently meant was that they had been trapped from a feral colony and spayed at the tender age of 10 weeks and left in a trap for someone to claim them. A CARA volunteer heard about their plight and sped off to pick them up. Though spayed, these two girls were far from being healthy.

Galena, a silver marble tuxedo tabby, and Opal, a smaller grey tabby saddle cat, endured weeks of medication to overcome upper respiratory infections, earmites, and the entire gambit of intestinal parasites. Because of the early age infections, their tear ducts have been scarred and their eyes may occasionally tear up, but nothing that a little tissue cannot take care of!

What a beautiful gal!

These two girls were very shy upon entering their new foster home and the constant medication did not make their transition any easier. Galena is the sweetest of the two kittens, and will jump up on your lap and PURR PURR PURR PURR! Opal is still a bit shy when it comes to people, but will frolic throughout the house with her sister without a care in the world! They are both sweet as can be when they decide to settle down, but they are happiest when they are running around the house making up for the months that they were not feeling their best.

Because of the traumas that these girls have endured in such a short amount of time, we feel that they would be happiest being adopted together to a quiet home. They do enjoy the company of their foster brother cats and would prosper in the company of another snuggly, big brother.

Won't you make these two girls the gems of your home?? If so please contact us.
