Bella

Bella likes dogs! Bella is also OK with other cats, and loves people. She's a very pretty, youthful dilute torti, playful, and a sweetheart that likes a bellyrub.

Bella came to the DC area this summer after a rough start in Radford, VA, during the spring. A car hit her and no one stopped so she started trying to fend for herself. Finally, a Good Samaritan found her and saw her leg dangling and asked Radford Poundpals for help. The Poundpals vet repaired her leg (metal pins were placed in it till it healed). Her leg's as good as new and she just loves people, cats and dogs! (She lived with a dog in the Good Samaritan's home.)

Sadly the Good Samaritan reneged on her part of the agreement to foster Bella for Poundpals (something about her boyfriend objecting). It couldn't have been at a worse time of the year... "kitten season", when the mamas have their babies after the long winter. Add to that, Poundpals is in a college town and there's another terrible statistic: the animal shelter fills with animals up at the end of each semester. (Translation: college kids take the animals during the semester then turn them in at the end when it's time to graduate or go away for the semester break.) Having "kitten season" so near to the end of a semester is similar to "A Perfect Storm".

Bella lived in a cage at the Poundpals vet for several months because Poundpals was brimming with strays and that was the only way to keep her safe. Although Poundpals received donations toward her care it wasn't enough after 2-3 months and Poundpals was forced to put a time limit on it. Fortunately CatsRUs in Annapolis was able to take her temporarily and then Bella came to CARA.

This very special girl has gone through a lot and would love to give her heart to a great person. Having a dog is a plus but not a requirement! Bella is up-to-date with routine shots, house trained and spayed We think she is about about 3 years old.
