She gets along with the cats - but don't know how she would react to another dog or children.

I feel bad for her because she has spent most of her life alone. My step-mother had a stroke 8 years ago and Dad would pen her up in the kitchen while he spent all day at the hospital or nursing home. He spent very little time with her - but her personality hasn't seemed to have suffered. She is always happy to see someone and walks very well on a leash.
