Brad and Newberry

Brad (grey & white) and Newberry (black & white)

Courtesy Posting - Not CARA

These 10-1/2 month-old kittens were found in a backyard in New Carrollton MD. The homeowner had a friend who knew a cat rescuer, so they all worked together to rescue the kittens and their mothers. Newberry There were 3 other siblings who have been adopted, but Brad and Newberry are still looking for their special home. Brad is a grey & white neutered boy and Newberry is a mostly-black spayed female. She is also known as Newberry Sun Bear, because she has a cute almost-crescent on her chest that looks a bit like the markings of a Sun Bear, but white instead of gold.

Brad and Newberry are friendly with their foster mom, but shy with strangers. It will take time and patience before they feel confident in a new place. So far nobody has wanted to give them a chance, but they are well worth the effort. They are really nice kittens and very entertaining. Brad just loves to play. He doesn't much want to be picked up and held, but if you play teaser-toy with him he will be your best friend. Newberry Newberry is skittish when you are walking around (those big people feet are intimidating!). But once you sit down she is a total lap cat. You can put her down on the floor on your right side and within a second she will be sitting next to you on your left side. Not so good if you're trying to telework, but great if you just want to cuddle with an adorable kitten. They would love to be adopted together, or with one of their foster siblings (Ricky and Koda and The Independence Day Kittens).

Both kittens are healthy and negative for Feline Leukemia Virus and FIV and are up-to-date on vaccinations. If you are interested in adopting one or both of them, please email Janet at JanetCatMom@yahoo.com to arrange a meeting in Riverdale, Maryland. (Please include "Kittens" in the subject line.) The adoption process includes an application, contract, and tax-deductible donation.
