Sally

Sally was found roaming in a neighborhood not her own. She was friendly and very hungry and thirsty so it was not too difficult for someone to befriend her. And someone did just that. Actually, not just one person, but several neighbors helped until she could pass through CARA's door for homeless animals.

Since that day she has been gaining weight. Sally has received all her veterinary care thanks to CARA, and has already been spayed.

Sally is a female German Shepherd mix who is about a year old. Her energy level is high, but she does calm down when she has something to focus that energy onto, like a bone or playing fetch. In fact, she will lie down and calmly cross her front legs in a very lady-like manner.

Sally's grace becomes evident as she sails over several steps to reach the porch. Somehow she also usually misses any obstacles in her path. In her past life it is possible that she was mistaken for a deer. We removed a beebee pellet from behind her ear, while she was unconscious for her spay.

She is 100% ready to go to a new home. She is rather aggressive with other dogs, so it would be best if she can be solo. She loves people, and wags her tail whenever she is introduced. Her size is large, so we would not recommend her for a family with small children. She does need some on-leash work, and to learn to ignore the squirrels. Sally would do well in a fenced yard at least six feet tall. She is a long, tall Sally!
