Einstein
Einstein's story is not unusual these days, except that
he was lucky to be rescued by a
CARA volunteer, rather than become "road kill". He was
found in a busy intersection,
walking back and forth across traffic. It appeared to
the volunteer as if some people on
the sidewalk were betting on when a car would hit him,
rather than try to save the poor
animal, obviously in distress.
The volunteer stopped traffic and managed to capture
him and bring him to the CARA
yard sale, where he found his foster mom. His foster
mom took him to Dr. Ruth, our very
special CARA vet, to be checked out thoroughly.
Dr. Ruth has estimated him to
be approximately 1-2 yrs old. He has a wonderful
personality and is adorably cute. He
is very friendly with other dogs, cats and people.
He easily wormed his way into his
foster mom's heart and onto her bed with several of her
other animal friends. He is likely
to do the same with anyone who spends just a day with him.
He loves his rawhide bones
and squeaky toys and will sometimes try to get the cats
to play with him. The cats,
however, are not interested and will usually ignore him.
Einstein's size (~16 lbs) makes him a good companion for
someone living in a small
space or who likes bringing their dog with him or her
wherever they go. He would be a
great candidate for a dog lover that is not able to handle
a larger dog. He loves to be
picked up and cuddled, giving tons of love in return.
He is a true lap dog, typical of a
Shih Tzu. His breed requires frequent grooming to keep
his hair clipped and neat.
CARA has tried unsuccessfully to locate his owner, so he
is now available for adoption.
We are looking for a caring person who will keep him
safely indoors, has a fenced
backyard and/or will keep him leashed whenever he goes
outside. Ideally, Einstein
would love a fenced backyard for him to run and play
in the grass. Einstein is waiting
expectantly by the phone for your calls... well, it's
really his foster mom who is waiting.
If you are interested in Einstein, please
contact us.
